Discogenic Back Pain
The term discogenic pain means one or more intervertebral discs are the pain source. Discogenic pain is a condition in which the discomfort comes from the actual intervertebral discs. The background contributing factors include degenerative disc disease and herniated discs. Herniated discs occur when the disc bulges from pressure that is applied to the outer fibrous disc wall. This pressure might also cause a rupture in the disc wall.
Exactly what causes discogenic pain is not well understood. There are differences that can be seen between a normal disc and a degenerative disc. The problem is, disc degeneration is part of the normal vitamins ">age
 process. The vast majority of degenerative discs cause no symptoms at all. Exactly why some people have significant pain is not well understood.
Most disc pain can be successfully treated with pain management drugs, epidural injections or some form of natural pain relief. As always, using drugs is less desirable than holistic medicine practices, due to the considerable dangers of prescription medications.
Strengthening of back muscles is probably the most important step in treatment of most causes of back pain. By increasing strength and flexibility of back muscles, weight is better distributed, and less force is placed on the spine

Back surgery is sometimes considered, but should always be a final option. There are far too many risks involved in spinal surgery to warrant these procedures for anything short of a necessity. The good news is that most discogenic pain goes away all by itself.
